Former minister - Professor G.L. Peiris has stated that the government has agreed to allow international bodies to intervene and carry out investigations regarding alleged war crimes by the Sri Lankan army during the closing stages of the Sri Lankan civil war.
Furthermore, he said the government had agreed to accept the terms put forward by the Human Rights Council.
Minister Faiszer Musthapha, however stated that the direct intervention of international bodies was not stated in the convention that was agreed upon.
